Bio

Sabyu (“SAH-byoo”) is a Pacific Islander American Artist originally from the island of Saipan. He is a singer-songwriter who performs acoustic songs w/ influences of reggae, hip-hop, jazz, rock, and more. He has a storytelling nature to his songs and sets, sharing moments of reflection and humor. His musicality is inspired by artists like Bob Marley, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nujabes, and Nahko.

Sabyu was recently featured on the 1st Season of NBC’s American Song Contest, hosted by Snoop Dogg & Kelly Clarkson, where he represented the Northern Mariana Islands with an original song: “Sunsets & Seaturtles”. 

Now residing in Olympia, WA, he has performed at notable venues in Seattle including Neumos, The Crocodile, and Nectar Lounge. He has performed alongside artists including Shing02, Substantial, Marcus D, Daniel Pak, Chief Javi, and more.
